What is the Family Arts Festival?

The Family Arts Festival is a national festival of family arts events presented by a range of organisations across the UK. It takes place during October and encompasses the autumn half-term holiday.


Who’s involved?

The family festival brings together the biggest and best names in sports, leisure, transport and shopping in the Salford and Trafford area.

Our partners include Ordsall Hall, Manchester United Museum, MediaCityUK, LEGOLAND, Trafford Centre, IWM North Smooth Radio, Salford Red Devils, PlayFactore, BBC Philharmonic, Salford Museum & Art Gallery, Metro link & Quays Culture.

Is there a cost?

There is no cost to come along and take part in the Family Arts Festival. There will be a cost attached to some attractions, though many are free to enter.

Activities range from free workshops and events, to discounted entry into some of Salford and Trafford best attractions. There are also special performances & theatre productions designed with families in mind that will come at a standard theatre cost.

What age group is it aimed at?

The family festival is designed with families in mind. Events and activities are suitable for the entire family. From the tiny little ones to the teens, there is something for everyone. All our events are appropriately marked with age guidelines, making it easy to explore what is best for your family.
